Catching up on memorable moments... December 2012 - March 2013

I have been HORRIBLE at keeping up-to-date blog entries, so today is the day when I'm going to purge and hopefully not forget anything.

Today Noah Douglas Makana (8 months) and Julia Diane were baptized at Western Jerusalem Church in Allentown, Pennsylvania.  Both of you were well-behaved considering you have never seen Pastor Royer before and I was so happy that family was able to join us afterwards for a luncheon. Below is a picture with Noah's Godparents: Lauren and Brooke  Sampson and Daniel Weida.

With the Weida and Collier baptism clan.

Noah is saying "mama", "dada", and imitating waving "bye-bye" now.  Letty, his babysitter says that he is always clapping and giggling which you also do at home.  It's hard to believe that I took him for a well baby month check up today (2/11/13) and he weighed in at 21.4 lbs.  His ear infection is gone and he received a Hep-B shot which he took like a champ. January 26th you will be 9 months old.  Where has the time gone?

Noah has started taking steps and strolling around with a walker cart that Aunty Darla bought for you.  He has become such a little daredevil pulling himself up on the couch and getting every little step in that he can.   Below is a video taken on 2/20/13 where you turned around and took about 20 steps.  Poor Frasier is in the background trying to get a treat from the garage and we aren't even paying any attention to him.  February 26th you will be 10 months old already.

Remembering Grammy Sampson and Pop Connelly

On January 19th, we lost our grandmother to pancreatic cancer.  She gave a valiant fight and was waiting to "get back with our Pap."   I  have fond memories of camping with my Pap and Grammy in Gratz, Klingerstown, and Tobyhanna.  It calms me to know that Noah was able to spend time with her and Pop Connelly while we were home in October and over the holidays.  We  lost Pop Connelly on January 27th whom also was strong-willed with his illness over the past year.  May they both rest in peace with their loved ones.  We know they are watching over us as our guardian angels.  Below are some pictures of them.

A trip to the Bucks County Children's Museum

While we were home, Jerrod and I decided to take the Sampson and Collier cousins to the Bucks County Children's Museum.  It was quite an adventure to say the least, but a fun time for all!

December in Hawaii.... and Pennsylvania!

Noah had a bunch of "firsts" this holiday season.  He touched snow and met Santa Claus, although as you can see in the picture, it wasn't an amicable encounter.  Grandma Weida was visiting here on the island and Noah loved spending quality time with her while Jerrod and I worked.  They would swing, tap on the pots and pans,  and read books all day.  His top teeth started coming through and he has pulling himself up on things and attempting to walk already- amazes us every day.

In the midst of packing, Noah decides to climb in the suitcase.
During the holidays, Jerrod, myself, and Noah (his third flight) traveled to Pennsylvania.  This trip was quite a special one as Noah was baptized on December 23rd with his cousin Julia.  Both the babies were on their best behavior and didn't cry one peep.  Noah gave Pastor an interesting glance up when he was being blessed with the water.  If he would've spoke, I'm sure it would've went something along the lines of "hey, watch the hair pal." Your Godmothers are Aunts Lauren and Brooke and your Godfather is Uncle Dan.
